Built-in mic of Macbook pro not working under Vista?

Hello there, I have a Macbook Pro which is running on Mac OS X Snow leopard. I use Bootcamp utility to run Windows Vista SP2 on the Macbook Pro. The operating system runs fine on the Macbook but there is some problems while detecting the Built in Mic of the Macbook in Windows Vista.
When using the built in sound recorder of the Windows, the Mic does not take any Input. Also while using Other applications to record the sound, only one channel input is detected. The Levels of the Input devices in the volume control panel change on their own if the computer is restarted. I cant figure out what the problem is and hence i need your help in solving the issue. If anybody is facing the Same problem With Built-in Mic of Macbook Pro not working in Windows Vista, then please share some information about it.

Using Bootcamp utility to use the Windows operating system on the Mac system is not recommended by the Apple and hence should be avoided. The File system of the Mac operating system and the Windows Operating system are different than each other and hence problems are faced when both the operating system are used on the same computer. Mac systems work on the MAC HD format while the Windows Operating system work on Fat32 or NTFS, the file allocation table of both the formats is different and creates problem while both systems are used together.

You must have faced some problems while the installation of the Windows operating system on your Macbook. Whenever the Partition is created using Bootcamp utility for the windows installation, some files on the disk get corrupted and create problems in either installation or proper working of the Windows operating system. I would suggest you to delete the partition on which the Windows Vista is installed. Then reformat the partition using Mac format. After formatting the drive in MAC format, use the Bootcamp utility and create the partition again and install a Fresh copy of Windows Vista on the Macbook. After Fresh installation of the operating system there would be no problem with any of the peripherals of the Macbook.

Windows Operating system unlike the Mac operating system need proper drivers which have to be installed for the proper functioning of all the device. If the drivers of the device is not installed there are high chances that the device will not function properly. Search the drivers for the Microphone on online and then download it. Once the drivers are downloaded, install them and then see if the microphone is working or not. Installing the proper drivers for the microphone will solve the issue.

I think the Windows installation on your Macbook is infected with some kind of Virus which is creating problems in recording while using the Internal Mic. Windows operating systems are more prone to virus attacks than the Mac operating system. If any of the Virus or Malicious program gets into the Windows Installation and infects the system files, then the operating system starts giving problems in it usage. Scan your computer with some latest antivirus and repair or quarantine the infected files. Do not delete any of the Infected files as deleting the system files will cause the system failure. Once the system is clean from the virus's, you will not face any problems with the Internal Mic of the Macbook.

Check the Status of the drivers which is installed for the internal Mic of the Macbook. To check the status, Right click on the My Computer Icon and select Manage. Now select Device Manager from the List populated on the Left hand side. Now on the Right hand side, you will see all the devices which are connected to the system. Search and Highlight the Microphone from the list. If there is any caution or question mark sign, Right click on it and select troubleshoot. Follow the Onscreen troubleshooting process and see if the Microphone works after the Procedure. You can also try and update the drivers by clicking on the update drivers button.
