    How to Configure IMAP Email in Windows Mobile

    Hi all,

    I am using iMate mobile that is on run with Windows mobile 5.0, I want to configure mail service on my mobile, that is on IMAP server, How can i configure this on my mobile, Can anybody have any idea. Please reply. Thanks in advance.

    How to Configure IMAP Email in Windows Mobile

    First you need to go to your messaging application where you can pick your account and click on create new email account, Click on the Setup Email tab. Then enter your email address and password. Then hit the enter , then next windows will pop up for The next screen gives you the option to choose your email provider. Simply choose Internet Email. This is the same selection for IMAP servers. Check and reply.

    You can also add your display name in email, where other other people will see when you send them an email. You can also type your incoming mail server name or IP address into the Incoming mail server field. You can choose advance setting for email like download your email via IMAP. When the process is complete then you will see your messages flowing into your messaging application.

    If you are using Google service or gmail, then must use the following IMAP4 setting.
    incoming server: imap.gmail.com
    outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com

    How to Configure IMAP Email in Windows Mobile

    You need to open the Start menu and select Programs > Messaging > New E-mail Account then enter your Gmail address in the E-mail Address field. then uncheck the box that asks to get settings automatically from the Internet and select Next. then select Internet e-mail as your email provider in the drop-down menu and enter imap.gmail.com in the Incoming Mail Server field then select IMAP4 as the Account type from the drop-down menu and select Next. Check out that and reply.

    Follow these steps to set up IMAP account in Windows 5.0 :
    # First you need to enable IMAP in your Gmail settings.
    # Open the Start menu and select Messaging > New Account....
    # Select Other (POP3/IMAP) for your e-mail provider and select Next.
    # Enter your Gmail address (including '@gmail.com') in the E-mail Address field.
    # Uncheck 'Attempt to obtain e-mail settings from the Internet', and select Next.
    # Click next and select IMAP4 for the Server Type.
    # In the Network field select how you want the device to connect to the Internet to access Gmail IMAP, and select Next.
    # Also enter 'imap.gmail.com' in the Incoming Server field, and check Require SSL connection.
    # And click next for SSL setting if you want.
