    The Zune player is not detected by the computer

    Hi,

    I have my Zune for about a month now and it has been working perfect. And I have not even dropped yet. But the last time you went out. Never again! I tried plugging it into the computer and it doesn't work. The Zune player is not even detected by the computer. What is wrong with my Zune?

    Try the following steps depending on the model of your Zune player. Start your Zune player, then

    • If you are having Zune HD player, Hold the on / off button for about 10 seconds until the device restarts.
    • If it Non-touchscreen Zune player, set the parameter to store, in locked position, and then press and hold the back key while pressing the top of the Zune touchpad. When your Zune player starts to reboot, you can release the buttons.

    Connect the Zune player to another USB port on your computer. Use a USB port on the back of the computer. Use a USB hub. The screen to unlock the device when it is activated. Enter your personal 4 -digit unlock code before you connect your Zune player to connect to the computer. When an application or a game will run on your Zune player, you must exit this program and then return to the Zune home before you connect your Zune player to connect to the computer. Disconnect the Zune player, and then update the Zune software on your computer. To do this, click Settings, click software, click General, and then click CHECK FOR UPDATES. Connect your Zune player again.

    Examine the computer for conflicts that the USB host controller or root hub cover. To do this, follow these steps:
    • Click Start, click the right mouse button on your computer, and then click Properties.
    • Click Device Manager.
    • Expand the USB controller.
    • Make sure that no errors in the list of USB devices are listed. A yellow exclamation point or a red "X" next to a device indicates errors. If no errors are listed, please contact the manufacturer of your computer.

    Check in the drivers in Windows Device Manager, to do this :-

    • Click Start, click the right mouse button on your computer, and then click Properties.
    • Click Device Manager. Click the root computer icon, and then click the Actions menu, click Scan for hardware changes. Zune should be listed under Portable Devices. Note: If the player is not installed properly (possibly Zune along with a yellow exclamation point!) Listed. Or it may be listed under other devices as a USB device.
    • Double-click Zune, and then click the Driver tab. The current version of the driver that is installed, should be 4.0.622.0.
