Dell inspiron 8100 or Dell inspiron 6000 Laptop

Sponsored Links
I had been looking at the Dell Inspiron 6000 vs Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop. From what I've read, the dell inspiron 6000 has significantly better speakers than the 8100 laptop. Has anyone seen both the Dell Inspiron 8100 screen and 6000 display? If so, how much better did you think that the Inspiron 8100 display was?

With high-performance features, the Inspiron 8100 top of the line series delivers versatility and unmistakable style for on-the-go users who still demands power-packed technology. You can see more on the Dell Inspiron 6000's wide screen than on most other 15.4-inch displays thanks to its WUXGA resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels.

The Dell Inspiron 6000 is encased in silver, with a white trim. It looks attractive and measures about 1.5 inches thick, 14 inches across, and about 10.5 inches deep. The weight is about 6.6 pounds. The Inspiron 6000 does not have a glossy display. It has an coating that gives it a dull shine when turned off. On a reflective screen like XPS2 or Dell screens with TrueLife you'll easily see your reflection with the screen powered off.

Re: Dell inspiron 8100 or Dell inspiron 6000 Laptop

The dell inspiron 6000 laptop comes with a modem, ethernet card, and WiFi. The Inspiron 8100 looks identical to Dell's existing Mobile Pentium III-based 8000 range -- which is to say, it's a well-featured and hefty (3.6kg) system that can truly be described as a 'desktop replacement' notebook. The Dell Inspiron 6000 is a very nice compromise between the different extremes of the laptop market. Weighing over 3 kg it is not an ultra-light machine, but it isn't a huge desktop replacement PC either.

Re: Dell inspiron 8100 or Dell inspiron 6000 Laptop

The Inspiron 6000 comes with two stereo speakers. The sound output is above what you'd expect from a laptop but nothing you'd want to play loud. The 8100 suffers from the same slightly clacky-sounding keyboard and clunky dual-purpose button design as the Inspiron 8000.

The Dell Inspiron 6000 gives pretty good performance in most of the games and applications thrown at it. It has all the attributes to make it the fastest machine in a portable form factor, as well as one of the most stylish. If you do need better performance, one option is to get Dell to customize a more powerful version for you.
