    Hp TX1000 does not Boot

I have a HP TX 1000 series laptop which was running fine, but suddenly it does not boot. Few days ago i was working when the shut itself down. I tried to start the laptop by pressing the power on button but it does not boot and gives a blank screen. Even the POST is not visible. I cant figure out what the problem is, so if anybody has any idea on this you are welcome to share it.
Is it because some hardware failure or software failure?

I think this is a software issue and you will need to install the windows again. Try booting the system from the bootable CD of Windows xp or any operating system you are using. If the system boots from the CD, then try to repair the current operating system. If the system repair does not work and stops midway then again boot from the CD and this time select to install a fresh copy of the operating system. To boot from CD you will need to get into BIOS setup and change the booting priority from hard drive to CD drive.

Many times the PSU( power supply unit) of the laptop needs to reset. PSU reset helps restoring the voltage levels which may have changed due to capacitive charge storage. When PSU reset is performed, the residual charge is discharged by providing an external circuit. To perform PSU reset, First turn off the laptop and take off the power source. Now remove the battery. After removing the battery, plug in the AC adaptor and then Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. After 30 seconds Remove the AC adaptor and then replace the battery again. If the problem was due to PSU then the laptop will start normally.

Probably the RAM chips of your laptop have gone bad. Remove the Ram chip and clean the connecting terminals with a clean cloth. Also clean the slot where the RAM is placed. After cleaning both slot and the RAM, replace the RAM and check if the system boots. If you have multiple RAM Chips then try one ram chip at a time so as to locate the defective ram chip. If the system does not boot at all then Replacing the RAM chips is only solution to your problem.

As the POST screen is also not visible when the system boots the onboard graphic card is not working. POST screen should be visible even if there is any hardware or software problem. POST tells us if the any hardware on the system is not working. As the system is not displaying the post screen, the onboard graphic adaptor is faulty. To check if the graphic card is working or not, Plug in another monitor through a VGA cable. If the graphic card is working then the monitor will display. If the monitor does not display then get the graphic card serviced by a HP technician.

Re: Hp TX1000 does not Boot

The problem faced by you is a common issue faced by all HP TX1000. The problem is with the series motherboard which is installed on the HP laptop. The temperature of the motherboard of the laptop rises above the limit which causes the system to shut down which is the same thing that happened in your case. If the laptop is under warranty then get the motherboard replaced from a HP service center. If it is not under warranty then you will be charged for the peripherals replaced along with there service charge.
