Ps3 or slimline ps3?

HI, I am the normal play station 3 80 GB and I have been reading up on the specification of the new Play station 3 slimline. And I notice that the different is only that it is smaller that old, and has a big hard drive and from the appearance it is slightly cheaper to run. can any one tell me what is the difference between them.

Major physical differences are the new PS3 Slim from the previous versions of the PS3. Sony developers has carved into good looks the same hardware into a smaller form. The new body is slimmer vertically and horizontally, but it is deeper than the older Play Station 3, almost a square type. The face power and eject buttons are now actual, depress able keys and there's also no power button on the console's rear panel.

As the current PS3 models, the PS3 Slim also do not provide backward compatibility with PS2 game cd. But, it can able to play previous PS1 titles. And there no. Ports for Compact Flash, Memory Stick, and SD cards existed on the newest PS3 versions, However they were slashed on more current iterations. If you want to play digital media files, you will need to insert them on a USB pen drive, copy them to a disc, or play them over the network.

The hard drive is user upgradeable. You can also still make a DIY upgrade with a 2.5-inch laptop hard drive. We will update our How-To video to give you a instruction guide for the PS3 Slim soon. You can not stand the PS3 Slim vertically. Out of the box, it's so skinny, it will tip over very easily. But, Sony is going to sell a stand separate from the console, in other words, you have to pay $24 for a hunk of plastic.

When you will no get an original release 60Gb which is only available refurbed or second hand, every recent PS3's do not have backward compatibility. The ps3 Slim do not have the other operating support for Linux, other than that its all replace to hard drive size, 80Gb or 160Gb for the "Fat" and 120Gb for the Slim ps3. But the hard drives are so easily interchangeable without invalidating the warranty that it really should not be a consider.
