Suggestion for Purchasing Digital Camera

I want to buy a nice Digital Camera. I am not able to select anyone available in the market. That is why i am asking you guys to help me out in the selection of the Digital Camera. Please recommend me any Digicam that should be suiting to my needs. I do not know about the Digital zooming but i want minimum 3X optical zoom. The budget i can spent for the Digicam is 15-16K.
