This can be an issue that there may lie or exist a corrupt file in your flash drive. This is the reason due which you flash drives asks for formatting everytime you plug it in your system. Check for the corrupt file in your drive by running the scan wizard. If you still not able to find the file it may be due to undetection of hidden files. The file might be hidden. |

The connectivity to the system may also be a draw point for the issue you are facing. The connectivity means your flash drive may not be very much compatible to the system due to which it fails to initialize the required information it requires to display the contents of the drive. Try plugging it into another port, say to USB 2.0 The connectivity and the transfer of data is much better. Check out for the same.

A virus may be generally the issue which is not allowing you to access the drive. Run a thorough antivirus scan check wizard using AVG 9.0 antivirus tool. It detects all types of threats and virus in order eradicate it from you drive if it exists. There can also be an issue with systems compatibility. As you are using Windows Vista you have to check whether your drive is supported well to the operating system or does it requires any drivers to install. You can install the drivers from the utility disc provided and then try to plug the device.
