Hello. Well the problem seems quite simple and not so very complicated. As you have installed Windows 7 you need to check out the required feature for your portable Mp3 player to work with the system. This is actually a problem associated with the software or application related with the player. You need to check the compatibility to which it would function properly.

Hi. The solution for the problem is that you need to install the drivers for the device. Have you installed the drivers? You might have got a utility disc with the portable you have purchased. Install the drivers from the disc and then plug your device with the data cable provided to you. After this your system should be able to detect the device. Good luck.

Hello. The problem might also be related the Usb connectivity. the port on which you are trying to connect your device might not be proper or it would not be compatible. The new portable devices performs and functions better on USB 2.0. Try connecting your device on that port. It might work for you. If not that the case then may be your data cable is not proper. Try to connect your device with other data cable which it supports.
