Does any one know how to Connect a Nintendo Wii To HDTV. I have tried to connect my Nintendo via the three-wire red, white and yellow but HDTV has the 5-wire component. What is the best way to connect them?

The standard cables the Wii comes with has a poor picture quality. If your using an connecting Wii to HDTV then component cables are a must used in connection. Your amp might have a couple of component inputs and a component output so you just switch video output via the amp.
First, you must figure out If your TV has component video inputs, You cannot use an RF switch to hook up the component (Red, Green, Blue) cables. You cannot use an RF switch to hook up the component (Red, Green, Blue) cables. You have to connect all 3 video cables directly to the TV (Red, Green, Blue). The 2 remaining audio cables can remain hooked up to your surround sound though.
If your TV does not have the component video cables, you will be using the red white and yellow composite yellows the system came with. A very simple connection. You can also hook the red/white cables from the component to your audio receiver, and then the other 3 colored cables to your TV.
