How to replace iPod Nano battery yourself

    Hi,

I have an iPod Nano, this device works well when connected to power, but when you disconnect the device from the system says the battery has not enough charged and shuts off by itself. Something is wrong with the battery, I know just want to know if there is any way to change or repair this battery, it is possible to do this? Has any1 tried to replace the Ipod battery by yourself?

If its under warranty then definitely get it replaced. If not, then it is possible DIY. One clue is that you want to read about it before trying. I have made some very iPods and iRiver mp3 players. That was pretty easy. But remember Apple considers them to be a disposable item, and warranty/repair work consists of swapping the broken iPod for a new one.

A fully charged iPod left idle for few days will not work anymore and they need to be recharged again. If you need to change the battery in your iPod Nano, you have options. If your iPod is under warranty, you can send it to Apple for free installation of a new battery. If the iPod is no longer under warranty, Apple will replace the battery for a fee.

To replace iPod Nano battery, battery leads are soldered to the logic board. This means that replacing the battery and resoldering requires removing the wires, which has considerable technical skill. First and second generation iPods have the battery connected directly to the hard drive with two strips of rubber with some sort of adhesive wrong. This material sticks! Use a screwdriver or other flat and thin application of choice to loosen the battery from the hard drive. Try to keep the rubber strips attached to the hard drive and not the battery. When free of the sticky death grip, disconnect the battery and throw it away.
