Using iphone in multiple countries

Hi,

I'll buy an iPhone, new 3G. But I'm going to buy in the U.S. because there it will be cheaper.

Then I would be interested to know if in Spain I will be able to use it as well, if I need some updates and such, please let me know. I'll need to play games etc ...

Thanks in advance.

Yes it will work in spain also. But you need to unlock iPhone to work in multiple countries. Once unlocked, you can put in any SIM card from any carrier around the world. Sorry i don't know the procedure to unlock it, you need to go to iphone customer service for that.

The country can be changed at any time through iTunes Connect, it doesn't need an update. If your network supports a standard GSM sim, it will work! Personally I would probably buy one unlocked from U.S or similar... That way you are free to use whatever SIM you liked!

Re: Using iphone in multiple countries

For the guys who doesn't know, unless Apple itself initiates iPhone service with foreign carriers, iPhone owners traveling abroad will be forced to roam on AT&T and to pay through the transfer for data as well as voice calls made over cellular-phone networks. They won’t be able to buy cheaper service from a local foreign carrier and enable it by simply replacing the phone’s AT&T SIM card with the local carrier’s.
