    Re: PS3 formatting

First go to Settings > System Settings > Backup Utility
And make a backup of saved data.

And now go to Settings > System Settings > Format Utility to format or you can simply use the Settings > System Settings > Restore Default Settings to Restore the system software to its default settings.

    Note:

When you perform Restore Default Settings operation, the system software will be restored to its default settings. Be careful when performing this operation as changes to the settings cannot be undone. Data loss or corruption is the responsibility of the user.

    Perform the following steps:
    1. Backup your games saves by doing System -> Backup
    2. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
    3. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
    4. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System -> Format, will take approx 3 1/1 hours.
    5. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset.

Restoring and reformatting your ps3 will erase everything,Doing this will allows your to have your main account and let you play wipe-out hd, unless you have created a backup.
