Ipod touch doesn't show up in itunes

Hi,

I'm running iTunes 9.0 on OS X Snow Leopard 19.6. i bought the 2.0 software update and tried to restore my iPod touch. it got all the way to the end then said error 1604. Both will sync correctly when it is recognized by iTunes. So the question is, what do I automatically open iTunes when you connect the iPod touch?

It seems that the current version of iTunes 8 is not compatible with the ipod's. I have a Gen 2 Shuttle and have been searching for solutions. I use my shuttle with a Windows PC, but I have been researching the threads for all generations of iPod and launch iTunes for Windows and Mac, and there seems to be a problem.

If you have Leopard and connect iPod touch to your computer, Select the icon for iPod touch in the left hand window of iTunes and click on Summary tab in the Options section, then click "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected. "

Try resetting the iPod touch
1. Reset your iPod touch.
2. Retry with a different USB or FireWire port.
3. Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates installed.
4. Remove iTunes software and then reinstall iTunes software from latest versions on the web.
5. Restore your iPod touch.
