Can we used BlackBerry 7130v as a modem

Hello,
Recently i bought BlackBerry 7130. It 's superb phone. It has lots of function and feature. One of my friend tell that it can be used as modem. Is it possible. Can we use BlackBerry as modem ? And how?? Can you help me? Any suggestion??

If you own a BlackBerry 7130v it can be used as a stage attached modem. First connect your laptop or desktop Windows to the Internet using data connection from your BlackBerry smartphone to download the BlackBerry Desktop software on RIM's website or the CD that came with your device. You'll need software version 4.1 or higher to use your BlackBerry as a modem.
Allow your BlackBerry using a USB port on your computer and virtual COM ports for Internet data upload and download via dial-up connection. Open your Windows Start menu and find your Control Panel in your settings. Open your phone and Modem Options, and specify your local area code, carrier code (if necessary) and numbers that you may need to dial to access outside lines. Then choose whether you use a keyboard or a telephone connection pulse OK.Click and hit OK once you have completed the field Extra initialization commands and press OK again when the phone tab and Modem Options reappears. Now you can use your Black Berry as a modem.

If you have do some setting then BlackBerry can be used as an external modem for a laptop.
So by this laptop can have full access to the Internet. This is useful when you need to do certain things that the BlackBerry can not do. Make sure your BlackBerry is connected by a USB cable and your BlackBerry Handheld Manager is running make sure launch BlackBerry Desktop to run it. It is necessary to use the BlackBerry as an external modem. You can not use BlackBerry as a modem unless you have BlackBerry Handheld Manager running in the background! If you have installed a recent version of BlackBerry Desktop that came with a 7100t, 7290, 7250 or 7520, it should include modem drivers and already be automatically installed.
