IPod touch not recognized in iTunes on Mac OS X

Hi,

I have a PC with Mac os X. My ipod touch is not being recognized by itunes and I unable to sync. However when I plug it in to the computer it is able to charge. I have restarted everything and reinstalled itunes, but nothing is working. any suggestions? Can anybody help me fixed the problem?

iPod touch requires iTunes 7.4 or later. Make sure your Mac meets the minimum system requirements to use iTunes and iPod touch. This is particularly important if you connect iPod touch to your Mac for the first time. To ensure you have the latest version of iTunes, choose iTunes> Check for Updates.

iPod touch requires USB 2.0 to function properly. If you are not sure if your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the Apple Tech Specs page. Try connecting iPod touch to a different USB port, preferably a port that is built-in to the computer instead of an external USB hub. Connecting iPod touch to your keyboard's USB ports is not recommended.

If the problem is with connecting IPod touch to iTunes on Mac OS X, delete the following files:
* /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileDevice.kext
* /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DeviceLink.framework
* /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework
* /Library/Receipts/AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg
