How to format a toshiba satelite laptop

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite 2400-S201. I do not have the Restore CD and the CD does not work anyway. It became necessary FDISK and format the drive and install a fresh copy of Windows Vista Toshiba . But how do I do that ???

Ask your company if you can get the CD. If you can not, then you have to get another operating system, or contact the manufacturer or wherever you bought it and ask them. Recovery from DVD can be created only if notebook has "factory settings". That means it must be configured as the first day without any change. When you start the notebook immediately press F8 to enter "Advanced Boot Options." If everything is right the first option should be to "repair my computer". I just hope that this option is there. A format is likely to solve your problem, unless there are other hardware problems going on. Over time computers get slower as you install the programs, some do not remove all the way, and other installations. You can do it by yourself. Just make sure you have everything you want it to be saved. Easy to forget things to include your e-mail and bookmarks.

Can you first of all please tell us what is the make or model of your Toshiba satellite laptop? Also, which operating system you have installed in it? If you want to format a drive other than the windows drive then you just need to simply right click on any drive (for example - D: or E: ), and simply choose the format option to either format that drive to Fat32 or NTFS.
