Ipod nano 2nd generation not working

I have apple ipod touch 2nd generation, the problem when i try to open multiple application form my apple ipod it gives me error "iPod Service Error". The same error occur when i transfer any song or video from my computer.

“iPod Service Error” message is displayed due to software conflicts, software corruption, or device-interface errors and the computer fails to cooperate with the iPod. Damaged registry keys may prevent Windows from recognizing a variety of USB storage devices including iPod.

Go into windows services and either disable ipodservice.exe or make it a manual start-up, itunes will re-enable it and it will continue to start-up and run next time you startup your itunes."iPod Service Error” Message can also be resolved by changing the System Configuration Settings.

Be sure to download the latest version of iTunes. Restart the iPod Service to solve the problem :

• Quit iTunes.
• Right click on My Computer/Computer and click Manage. If Windows requires your permission to continue, click Continue.
• Click the plus symbol to the left of Services and Applications.
• Select Services listed under Services and Applications.
• Double click iPod Service in the right hand panel.
• Click the Stop button under the General tab and leave the iPod Service Properties window open.
• Connect your iPod and wait until it is visible in My Computer/Computer.
• Click the Start button in the iPod Service Properties window.
• Open iTunes.
