Students college use & gaming - laptop or netbooks

Hi,

I am looking for "laptop for students & college purpose". Just need some suggestion on different makes & models available regarding the performances & the configuration being economical.

I want to know which are currently the ideal ones to buy?
What your guys think about netbooks? Portability is also my concern. It it supports some gaming then its best thing

I’d consider looking at real laptops in the 13–15 inch range. Netbook is probably the most portable but sorry for gaming. You must also consider the battery life while choosing. For speed, power, and portability. I would think about a smaller laptop like sony vaio. Laptop is your best option. You wont be happy with the speed of netbook even if its priced less compared to laptops.
If you're simply looking for a desktop replacement but want the option of taking it with you, a laptop with a screen 15" and larger is the ideal solution.

A good student laptop must have following features.
a. Lightweight
b. Portable
c. Long Battery Life
d. High Performance
e. Secure

I would suggest you to go with HP or Dell.

You are correct, I been doing my research and what I think would suit me best is ASUS Eee PC 1000HE or Asus Eee PC 1000HA Netbook but asus looks really expensive.
I am also looking at Acer. "Acer Aspire One AO751h-1080 Blue Intel Atom Z520 11.6" WXGA 2GB Memory 250GB HDD Netbook"
While netbook sales are strong, Apple has been reluctant to enter the cheap ultraportable computer war.
I am a fan of HP, they have some great laptops for decent prices, and they are great for gaming. (Depending on the specs of the laptop, make sure you check out the graphics card on the laptop)
