Error 71 in Dell 1525

I have a Dell 1525 Linux in it . today when it try to install windows Xp in it and got a ERROR 71 every thing was fine the formatting went well the installtion no problem after all work and reboot i got a a message :

GRUB Loading stage 1.5
GRUB Loading please wait
ERROR 71

Is this an Ubuntu fragment left in the BIOS? Can I get it out of there?

The problem is that grub could not find a file.or Windows not wiping the entire HD. it could be that the MBR of the drive, and thus GRUB is still left there, there are no/boot partition from linux , so it cant get load completely .

The most easy way to solve MBR and boot issues is do the following :

1. Boot your SGD
2. Choose English Super Grub Disk
3. Choose Windows
4. Choose Fix Boot of Windows

And i think you are mistaking in the error part there are such erro like this it could be this :

Grub loading stage 1.5
Grub loading, please wait.....
error 21"

This means that Grub can not find the grub.conf file, and having already had this problem on my computer, I could solve this problem without reinstalling Ubuntu, the following solution:

• Start your computer using the Ubuntu CD
• Open a terminal (Alt + F2 and type "gnome-terminal")
• Switch to administrator by typing "sudo-s"
• Type "grub"
• Type "find / boot/grub/stage1. You will get a response like "(hd0, 1)"
• Use the answer to your computer, and type the command "root (hd0, 1)"
• Type "setup hd0, 1" to install Grub in the 1st partition of 1st hard drive of your machine
• Close Grub by typing "quit"
• Restart your machine
