To connect amarok to ipod follow this step :
Open Amarok > you need to change the default settings > Select Media Devices from the left column from menu > select Apple iPod Media Device from the Plugin > Click Apply and then OK > then click on the device tab from the menu > drag file which you want to add >They’ll appear in a Transfer Queue window > Click the Transfer button from the top menu and the files will be loaded onto your iPod.
Do you have the "ipodslave" package installed? You need to install the amaork support package for ipod and also a kio-slave plugin package (it display media collection..) Just run adept, search for ipod and install all the packages you find.
Amarok is a GNU/Linux audio player. In Ubuntu 6.10 the iPod won't detect so you need to follow the settings : Go to Settings >?Configure Amarok > Media Device > Add Device > Plugin (Apple iPod), name (iPod), and mount point (/media/ipod).
