Cannot put ipod into disk mode

Hi,
I have iPod nano 3rd generation 8 GB. But now its not working properly. It won't turn on if it is unplugged from power or usb cord. When i try to restore it from the disc mode, it does not wok. I cannot put it to disc mode. Can anyone help?

Restart your iPod before putting it into Disk Mode. Check your ipod's hold switch is off when you slide the switch away from the headphone jack. Press and hold the Menu and play or pause for few seconds to reset the ipod. Then restart your ipod. When you see the Apple logo hold fats forword and rewind button. It will take it to disc mode.

Try this:

• Go to ipod preferences
• Click enable disk
• Click OK

Keep it connected to computer for long time. Wait for it two start charging. Restart your ipod by holding menu button and try to put it in disc mode.
