    How to Install .jar file

    Hi
I am new to this forum and I need help in installing java applications on my samsung mobile.

I bought a Samsung Metro GT-S3310 phone a few months back and then tried several methods to install games in it,but could not get through.

I tried every possible technique mentioned on different forums on the internet related to this issue, but in vain.
I tried all the codes, but the only one that seems to be working is the one mentioned in one of the threads on this site
How to install .JAR or .JAD files on Samsung S7330 mobile phone

    The code been
    *#6984125*#

I even tried the method mentioned in the thread (updating the java db,etc)- but it did not work.

I also wrote to samsung and got the Following reply:

Samsung GT-S3310 handset does not support downloading of any third party
applications / softwares in the handset. The handset supports
downloading of compatible java games supporting jad and jar formats
supporting MIDP 2.0 . The compatible java games can be downloaded in
    the handset through GPRS only
    .

I also tried that method -via GPRS-but it says "content not supported"

I just want to download a Dictionary and MyNotes on my phone.
Please if any one knows how to install applications, please help.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank You.

Input the code *#9998*4678255# in the dail mode and u will get a msg "activated". after that paste the .jar or the .jad file in the "others" folder of "phone memory". simply select the needed .jar/.jad application file. wait for a few seconds, the phone will ask to install the java file.

Hey first you need to do this.
you try this before entering the code given by Paxton .... download jadmaker free of cost.... Now make Jad file of jar & you will get both jar & jad files. Now put them both in the memory card of your phone memory
    Now follow what Paxton said.
    You are done.

Samsung phones supports downloading of java application only via gprs, so you could do this, if you know from which location you can download it to pc, the note its complete internet location like : http://www.abc.com/apps/mynotes.jad

Open the location of .jad file from your gprs enabled phone, if it gets installed, you're good to go else open the location of .jar file the same way. This will definitely work. I have used this method to install opera mini for my samsung phone...

Re: How to Install .jar file

Before installing on thing you will have to check that your mobile model number supports Java. Then you can add a Java Midlet to the mobile via infrared or bluetooth connection. Java Midlet is kind of Java update for your mobile. If anyhow your mobile is older version or damaged then you can update it by the latest version. Look for Java setup for your mobile model number. Then install it by cable connection, infrared or bluetooth. Then I hope your jar files will work.

Hello, First you need to open your mobile phone's web browser, make sure, your internet/gprs is working on your phone. Now go to any site that you know offers free java games and applications like getjar.com, Then from the computer browse to any software that you want to install. There will be a file with .jar and .jad externsion. Here you have to write down the whole address of the .jad file on the internet. The complete address will be in this format : "http://www.abcd.com/application/samsung/software1.jad" Now write this address in the phone's web browser. Now this file will be recognised as application and it will install .jar file with the help of the .jad file whose address you typed in the phone. Wait for sometime and the phone will install the software for you... Hope this helps!
