    Palm Pre Phone from Sprint

Palm (R) Pre (TM) is the first phone running the new Palm webOS (TM) platform, which brings together your important information from where it resides - on your phone, at your work or on the web - into one logical view. (1) Palm Synergy (TM), a key feature of webOS, pulls your contacts and calendars from places like Outlook, Google and Facebook, so everything is right there for you when you need it. Pre Palm also lets you flip back and forth between all the things you have open at once - instead of opening and closing them - so you can flow easily between activities without losing your place. Pre's exquisite design includes a touch screen and a physical keyboard that slides out only when needed. The new Palm Pre webOS and are designed to be so in sync with your needs that it feels like Pre is thinking ahead for you. More information about the Pre Palm phone is available at http://www.palm.com/Pre.

In fact, during my testing, one of my downloads from the App Catalog caused to my pre crash disastrously - all my email, contacts and other data were wiped out, and the phone was unable to connect to the Sprint network or Wi-Fi. Palm conceded the catastrophe was due to it still has problems getting the app catalog to work with the phone's internal memory, and explained that this is one reason it has not widely distributed the developer tools.

All in all, I believe the pre is a smart, sophisticated product that will have particular appeal for those who want a physical keyboard. It is thought fully designed, works well and could give the iPhone and BlackBerry strong competition - but only if it fixes its app store and can attract third-party developers. "

"The Pre's biggest disadvantage is its app store, the App Catalog. At launch, it has only about a dozen apps, compared with over 40.000 for the iPhone, and thousands each for the G1 and the modern BlackBerry models. Even worse, the Pre App Catalog is not finished. It's immature, it's labeled a beta, and Palm has yet to release the tools for making pre apps available to more than a small group of developers.

"The Pre, is an elegant, Joyous, multi-touch smartphone, it's the iPhone remixed. That's no surprise, really, what its primary mastermind Jon Rubinstein, who joined Palm after working with Steve Jobs of Apple, on and off, for 16 years. Once at Palm, he hired 250 engineers from Apple and elsewhere, and challenged them to out-iPhone the iPhone.

That the Pre even comes close to succeeding is astonishing. As so many awful "iPhone killers" have demonstrated, most efforts to replicate the result in hideous iPhone designed-by-committee measure. "

To put it simply, the Pre is a great phone, and we do not feel any hesitation saying that. Is it a perfect phone? Hell no its OS Does need work? Definitely. But are any of the detracting factors here big enough to not recommend it? Absolutely not. There's no doubt that there's room for improvement in webOS and its devices, but there's also at astounding amount of things that Palm nails out of the gate.

By mid-2007, Palm was a little ruins. Several Windows-smartphones, which lost the decisions of other companies the opportunity to play only on price declines and aggressive promotion of their devices. As you Centro for $ 100? And instantly off sales twice. But in terms of profit margin and it was nothing.

Interested in Palm brand fell, and it seemed that all the victories in the past. As has been good memories, some selling in the native North American market and poor prospects ahead. Just remember that the value of shares each day declined, the drop seemed to be no stopping.
