The SGH-T729 has an attractive display that measures two inches and supports 262,000 colors. The Blast is also provides direct access to personal email, including AOL email, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail, making it easy to check messages anytime of the day. For added convenience, email messages can be read and responded to for the same pricing as text and picture messages - meaning there's no required data package to purchase. The camera lens is on the rear side of the front face, so it's only exposed when the slider is up. There's no flash but you do get a self-portrait mirror. The right spine holds a camera shutter and the headset/charger jack while the volume rocker and the MicroSD card slot live on the left spine. The Blast's 1.3 megapixel camera takes pictures in seven resolutions from 1,280x1,024 down to 176x144. Other features include a night mode, white balance and brightness settings, metering exposure, ISO, five color effects, 30 fun frames, a self-timer, and a digital zoom. The camcorder takes clips in two resolutions (176x144 and 128x96) with sound and a set of editing options similar to the still camera. MP3 player and speaker independent voice recognition. Users also can stay connected while traveling worldwide with the Blast's quad-band technology. The interface is painfully basic and the sound quality was unremarkable. For playtime, the Blast offers three games: Forgotten Warriors, Midnight Casino, and Cannonball. There's also a demo of Brain Challenge. If you want more options, you'll have to buy games from T-Mobile's T-Zones service via the WAP 2.0 wireless Web browser.
