The Nokia 6263 is a mid-sized clamshell with a musical tendency. The phone is weighted nicely and feels solid, though not overly heavy. It is slightly difficult to open. Music lovers will appreciate the music player on the 6263, especially the external controls that are easy to use. The main display and the phone is large, which will help make it more accessible to a wider range of consumers. With the music player, the device can receive FM radio, thus making it possible to enjoy your favorite tunes and connect to your favorite radio station. The body of the phone does not emit any creaks, and the hinge has absolutely no wiggle room, which further proves the superior build quality of the 6263. The front of the 6263 features a 2 megapixel camera with no flash, in addition to the dedicated music playback keys and large 262k color TFT external display. The music buttons sport raised labels, allowing them to be easily found and used, even when the device is in a pocket. The top of the handset houses the small-barrel Nokia power port, a miniUSB port for data transfer, and a 2.5mm audio jack that you can't help but wish was the standard 3.5mm.
The Bluetooth wireless technology makes it possible to connect the Nokia 6263 to a wide variety of mobile enhancements like stereo wireless headsets and speakers, computers and even new vehicles with Bluetooth hands-free technology. The 6263 does not offer the 6133's button for opening the flip, so you'll have to use the traditional method of using your fingers. But that's fine with us, as we considered that feature to be rather gimmicky. You can set an active standby mode, change the standby font color, and alter the messaging and phone book font size. The keypad buttons are improved over the 6133. They're not nearly as slippery, and instead of being flush, they're slightly raised. The result is a large, user-friendly keypad with a bright backlighting and distinct separation between the individual keys.
