Try completely erasing itunes and reinstalling it. it shouldn't affect your library and playlist. then connect your iphone with your pc and synchronize the data. and even after reinstalling the itunes if you are facing a same issue then see here for more help iPod missing in "My Computer

You can try this and see if it helps.

    1. Open "run" from the start menu, and run "services.msc".
    2. Search "Apple Mobile Device".
    3. On "status" column right click and then click on "Properties"
    4. In the "general" tab find the "startup type" drop-down arrow menu and make sure "automatic" is selected.
    5. Also in the general tab check the "service status". If it does not say "started" then click the start button.
    6. At the bottom of the properties window click "apply"

    Re: Computer not recognizing iphone

I had the same problem after purchasing a broken I phone from the net, after much searching and multiple attempts at resetting changing ports, amending device properties, in a last ditch effort replaced the existing docking connector assembly completely, the assembly cost me $15 AU and was quite easy to install myself, i believe you can order them from ebay for like $7 via Hong Kong i went local to avoid the delay. but yes i can 100% confirm it works perfectly now.
