Why my computer screen will not light up?

Hello friends,

My computer screen will not light up Why?
I have this 1 year old laptop from Alienware & the laptop screen wont light up.
2 days ago I came heme & turned it on but the screen does not light up like it normally does. The problem I have is really absurd, when I try to close the laptop the screen get light up ans as soon as I use mouse open it again it gets off.

I am sure it has to be the lcd screen problem with your laptop.
Please check if you can connect a CRT monitor to your laptop & get it working?
If you get it on CRT monitor then I am sure the problem is with the Laptop LCD screen only. If it is under warranty call the support and they can direct you on what to do. It does sound like a video prob. May be the back light of the screen is gone bad.

Please check if you can connect a CRT monitor to your laptop & get it working?

If this is not your problem then it has to be:

• Loose connection between the cable and LCD screen.
• Defective video cable.
• Bad LCD screen.

Please have a closer look at your laptop lcd screen. Can you see any image I mean may be the screen is too dark. Try to switch the video from external mode to internal using Fn & F4 key.
If still you cant see any image on the screen then its your video card problem.
