Can i use an iphone with Alltel

Hi,

I have apple iphone with AT&T network but now i want to change my service provider, I am looking for alltel, my iphone is unlocked, can it be used with the Alltel cell phone company or verizon ? if i can then which plan is best for me, can i use a family plan. Will it Be cheaper or more expensive?

No you cant use apple iphone with Alltel , because the iPhone is a GSM device. Alltel is primarily CDMA, with some GSM coverage. See here for more details on Alltel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alltel. You can only use it with AT&T or unloced it and use it with T- Mobile. Unless apple come out with a CDMA iPhone, Alltell or Sprint, or Verizon, or US Cellular will never have an iPhone

Alltel and other network providers are planning to come with an iphone, Although it will run for over $700.00-$800.00, compared to the current $199-$299. so if you are willing to spend more amount then you can have an iphone with alltel.
