It is showing duplicates because you have the "all contacts" selected from your group screen. tap groups and select just the exchange group. That should list all your contacts without showing the duplicates saved on your iphone
Create a group in your Mac address book, but do not create any contacts in it. Then in iTunes, on the iPhone's info page, uncheck the "all contacts" and select the your empty group.
Here i found the solution
- On the iPhone, delete the MobileMe account
- Switch off iPhone completely.
- After 30 seconds restart the iphone
- Set up MobileMe account again and set it to sync calendars & contacts
- iPhone will say there are existing records; state you want to MERGE data.
- Wait for 5-10 minutes for the iPhone to pull down all data from the cloud again
- Check that all now works OK.
