Laptop needed, budget is 40,000 to 50,000

    Hi friends,
I want to buy a new laptop and my budget is 40,000 to 50,000 Rs/-.
Mostly need it for Internet Surfing, Programming, movies and games too.

I'm Not a gaming freak but will play few games occasionally.
Games released upto GTA IV, Call of duty 4 must have to be playable in it. (Not concerned about new releases.)

After searching a lot on internet, I ended my search with following 2 options in hand.

ZENITH DIRECTOR PLUS Ultra --> 45,000
    Dell Studio 15 --> 48,000

(I dont know the exact prices. )

I guess the competition is only between Zenith & Dell in this price range.
I've read lot of good reviews of Zenith Director Plus Ultra.
I dont have any complaints about Zenith Company as I'm still using the Zenith's Desktop PC for last 5 years without a single problem.

So what would you suggest me guys ?
Which one should I go for ?
What will be its price ?

    Thanks In Advance.

If you are comfortable with Zenith then go for it.
I think the Dell Studio is also good choice.
Choose anyone according to your willingness to spend.

    Go with Dell for laptops.

Depend on location where you stay I will recommend you to go and visit your nearest IT retail out let like Croma. They display a range of laptops and notebooks. You budget is quiet good in which you can full fill all the requirements. If you are thinking for dell then it is fine. Because dell has a good name in field of customer service. They have their dedicated call center which will guide you. Along with the feature also try to get maximum after sale service. Dell provides you a complete range of laptops starting from 25,000.00 aprox. to more than 60,000. On the internet you will provided with features and photos but in the outlet at least you can have a feel of the product.

Don't compare laptops on battery only.
All rechargeable batteries wear out with time and usage.
For the typical user, noticeable reduction in run time generally will be observed after 18 to 24 months. For a power user, reduction in run time generally may be experienced prior to 18 months

It's normal for both the Dell 15 and the 17 inch with the six cell battery. You should be getting 3 - 3.5 hours with the 9 cell.

    Ya, you both are right.
I've seen my friend's Compaq Laptop whose battery now lasts for 1 and half hour only. (He bought his laptop 2 years ago.)

No one has said anything about Acer Aspire 5738.
    Is it that bad ?

If you are concerned with the battery life in your laptop then I have some suggestions for your. Acer Aspire 5378 gives you a battery life of around 3 hrs. The zenith Director plus does not has a good user feed back on the battery issue. The battery life offered by zenith is around 2 hrs approx. Dell has a standard 6 cell lithium ion battery which gives user a reasonable battery life. But the performance is quiet better than zenith. The maximum is calculated around 3 hrs and 40 minutes. But here first take a look on hp also. Hp laptops are termed as a best machine in battery life. The HP Pavilion DV3 gives you battery life upto 4 hrs. It has a 9 cell battery. You can have upto 7 hrs of battery life if you carry a additional battery.

2 to 3 hrs battery backup is enough for me.
What will be the price of HP DV3 if I customized it for the same configuration as of Dell Studio 15 or Acer 5738 ?

    Thanks for your reply.
