iPod Touch video problems...

I bought an 8gb touch today and began putting music and movies on it.
The only movies I put on there were The Dark Knight and Taken. Well, I synced the touch and left for work. But when I got to work, I tried playing the movies, and it said, "the movie could not be played."

The music plays no problem, but I don't know why the movies won't play. Any ideas on this?

You need to convert video files in mpeg-4 to play videos in Ipod's. You can refer to tips on How to transfer and watch videos on your IPod

first let us know how you put the video to the iPot Touch?
& secondly let me know what is the format of the video you added to iPod touch?
Have you configured the itunes?

well, I don't know what the format is because the video came straight from the digital copy disc of the blu-ray. then I just synced it from the itunes library, since the video downloaded straight from the disc to the itunes library.

I will recommend you try Quick Time. You can download it from Apple website. It is a freeware tool. Just some simple clicks the movies in your apple ipod will work. First after downloading install it and open the movie in the Quicktime player. Then go to file menu and click on export. In the box select movie to ipod. Quicktime will sync the movie in ipod.

In my iPod touch, the music plays smoothly without any issues, but for some reason the movies/videos won't play.
I don't know the reason for this....

I just bought 8gb itouch and converted 10 youtube videos to mp4, and successfully moved (and viewed) the 10 videos on itouch. all of sudden (coincidentally, i downloaded new s/w v3.1.2 today), the videos don't appear on my itouch anymore. but through itunes when i click on DEVICE-my ipod, it indicates that i do have 10 videos, 900mb. i do see my music files and can listen to them on itouch properly, and see stock quotes, etc. Hitting SYNC doesn't appear to help. any idea why when i hit VIDEO ICON (on itouch), nothing appears? help! please!~

the soltution is to
convert to mp4 get on itunes
1 right click on movie
2 go to get info
3 go to options
4 change media kind to music video
