Hi,
I have just formatted my nikon coolpix cameras sd memory card and i forgot to take some pictures back up and now all of these pictures are gone . and after formatting it shows that my card is corrupted and none of the pictures can be read anymore. please tell me how do i recover the snaps from my sd memory card

You can recover your snaps of your camera until and unless you have Xd card on your camera If you have an camera that uses an xD card, once you re-format your xD card the pictures can't be restored unfortunately. Even if you have formatted the card or used the Delete-All option, you can still retrieve your pictures after format if you act quickly. You can undelete your pictures because the digital camera wont overwrite that data immediately and just makes it available for use.

It may still be possible to recover pictures from the SD memory card. Don't do anything further to it - like saving new files etc.

You can very often recover deleted pictures from a camera memory card (e.g. SD card, CompactFlash card) or USB Memory stick. However, to increase the chances of being able to recover pictures after they have been deleted you must not save any new photos, files or data to it.

When you delete pictures (or any files) from a memory card or USB memory device the data itself isn’t deleted, just the file system pointers that says where the data for those photos is located. The area where the deleted picture data was stored is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it is too late to recover your deleted pictures so it is very, very important that new pictures or files aren’t saved to the memory card in the meantime.

One of the easiest ways to see if your deleted pictures can be recovered is to try some photo recovery software.

One tip is to try a free trial version of a good commercial product that will scan the memory card for deleted pictures and show you exactly what pictures can be recovered. Hello.....I am having the same problem where I accidentally formatted my sd card.

I took it to a camera shop to ask the shop assistant. The shop assistant took a photo on the formatted sd card but she deleted the photo afterwards, would this make an impact on me trying to retrieve my photos?
