Kodak has introduced two new point and shoot cameras and one pocket-sized HD video camera. The Kodak Z980 is a 12 megapixel sensor and a whopping 24x optical zoom. Of course, the Z980 also offers much needed image stabilization for its extended focal length. The Z980's styling is reminiscent of a single-lens reflex camera, and includes a portrait grip with a secondary shutter release button. The SLR-like features continue with a hot shoe, capable of accepting Kodak's optional P20 flash strobe. Other features include a 3.0" LCD display, 720p movie mode, Kodak's "Smart Capture" mode which automatically adjusts the camera's settings, plus SD / SDHC card storage, and power from four AA batteries. The Kodak Zx1 is a competitor to the Flip-series cameras. The Zx1 features 720p capture at 60fps. Like the Flip cameras. It is also SD card compatible for sizes up 32GB, which will result in recording times up to 10 hours.Kodak Z980 is a 12 megapixel SLR-like ultrazoom digital camera features 24X optical zoom lens (26–624 mm in 35mm photography) with Image stabilization, Fast (f/2.8-f/8.0) 26mm wide-angle lens, Vertical shutter release, True HD photo & video quality, Enhanced lighting control, Manual controls, ISO 64-6400, Face detection, Flash hot-shoe and a 3 in. type high resolution (201K dots) LCD screen.
