The Panasonic DMC-FZ7 is the latest descendant in Panasonic family of compact ultra zoom camera's. The names in this series is a bit confusing, because after the DMC-FZ4 (4 megapixel) and the DMC-FZ5 (5 megapixels) jumps to the Panasonic DMC-FZ7 - not seven but six megapixel.
The strong point of the DMC-FZ7 is the 12x optical zoom lens with an equivalent range of 36 to 432 mm. The camera is also equipped with an optical image stabilizer, so this long zoom range will actually be used.The standard ISO range from ISO 80 to 400, there is also a High Sensitivity mode, the equivalent of ISO 1600 offers. But as with most compact cameras, there is even at ISO 400 noise already, so ISO 1600 only in emergencies is recommended.
