What lens filter do i use on a canon rebel xs

Hi,

I have a Canon Rebel XS EOS 1000D camera, can you please tell me. My friend has many old Canon film camera lenses and filters, can i use this lenses on my EOS 1000D. or should i buy a XS or XT camera.

You have an EOS series which is very old. All EF lenses are fully compatible with all EOS camera bodies. If the camera says something like CANON FD LENS, then no, it will not work.

It depends on how old the lens are. If the are FD mount then they require an FD to EF adapter. If they are EF mounts then they will work. but Cannon made a bunch of different sids cameras with different mounts. I use a Digital XT, and use some old lenses I had, but you'll have to check first.
