Free TomTom Voice

hie friends,

I want to enjoy and implement the TomTom voices. How can I get the free TomTom voices on my computer. Can anybody help me providing me with all the necessary information regarding TomTom voices.

First of all, you should have the GPS feature in your mobile phone and a TomTom software installed in your mobile phone.

• Download TomTom voice files and copy these downloaded voice files to your device.
• Save the downloaded folder to your PC, for example in "C:\tomtom\voices"
• Switch on TomTom and connect it to the computer (via USB cable)
• Go to "My Computer". There you must see TomTom. Double click on the icon. to open and view TomTom's folder.
• If you have a folder labelled "voices", double click it, otherwise you'll need to store you voice files in the root folder. PDA and pocket GPS users with TomTom software may need to copy saved files to folder mobile device/my documents.
• Copy any of the voice files from the folder and paste into the folder voices or tomtom root folder (i.e. copy all the files to that folder: data88.chk and data88.bmp and data88.vif).
• After pasting the last voice, wait for about 30 seconds, and then remove your USB cable. Your tomtom will reboot and you will be able to activate selected voice.

To change a voice on your TomTom:

- Tap the centre of the screen and select "Change Preferences "
- Click the right arrow, three times and select "Change Voice"
- Use the right and left buttons to scroll around your available voices.

You can also record your own voices you want as your TomTom voice. TomTom users love ability to customize TomTom voices.

(i) Make sure your tomtom in connected to the pc and is switched ON.
(ii) Once you have chosen the voice you want, you must check 3 files ending in .bmp .chk and .vif;
(iii) On each of these files, right click and 'save target as'...
(iv) Navigate to 'my computer' where you'll find your tomtom as a drive,
(v) Locate the voices folder and place each one there.
(vi) Now reboot your tomtom and the voice will be installed.
