How to fix error 14 on itouch

I am having a serious problem with my itouch. It started giving me an error 14 whenever I update its firmware. The error message that comes up says:

The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (14)

Is this normal? How can I get rid of this error message?

Install itunes 7.4.2, but I think it is possible to install it even over an itunes 8.
If you have tried several firmwares with that version in DFU mode, I would like to bring to your notice that they will not work. Try downloading the official 1.1.4 and restart. Try using itunes 8.0.2 to restore with 1.1.4, it should work.
