how to format the r4 card for Nintendo ds

I have just received R4 card of apparatus is now to say to me to format card SD in order to work in the r4. Can one tel how do that? Tested several programs as Panasonic sdformatter but they do not work. If someone knows how to format card SD and the programs to use id appreciate it.

The R4 revolution loads data from a small Flash map. I believe, what with it its format became meant, will formatting the map in the R4, in order to guarantee that no data still that the DS could. Thus you format the microSD map, put you them in your PC. Open "My computer" , you look for the microSD map, which right mouse button on it and you select "Format". Use fast and FAT32-Format. These instructions can be ignored, if the microSD map is completely again.Go ahead and load it up with ROMs, Videos, Images and so on.

Formating R4 Card

1. Connect r4 MicroSD card through USB port
2. After that open 'My Computer' after opening my computer right click on
3. 'Removable device' select format option from the menu.
4. Change file system to 'FAT'
5. Click on the check box for quick format.
6. Press the 'start' button

Having problems with this method?

Try Panasonic SD format utility :

1. By using the pull-down menu to select the reader: letter of your microSD is located at, to find it go to 'My COMPUTER' or 'Vista Computer' look for removable reader it will be your microSD.
   
2. Press the 'Format' button.

Follow the following steps it will definitely Help you :

1. Firstly backup your data to your computer & then format it to a FAT file system.
   
2. Then download the latest file for R4DS from the following Link : Link
   
3. After downloading the file extract it & copy both the files & folder on to the card.
   
4. Then restore the file you backed it up in the starting.
   
5. Then insert the card & you will see it is working fine now...!

Hi. I know this is an old post but was wondering if you could help? The link you posted doesnt work.

I have a R4ids card and a micro sd card but cant get it to work for some reason and its driving me mad. We have the old normal r4 cards and there all fine but when I try and put the new r4i one in the bottom screen goes blank and the top has a red face saying menu?

check what version of firmware you downloaded. there are 5 dif types of r4 card and they all use diff firmwares

at start you should have 4 files moonshel, mooonmemo, r4.dat and r4 men!
copy all 4 of these files to the root of sd card
then simply copy any games to same place
