HP recalls 70 000 potentially hazardous batteries

While Apple is the cost of a class action against its dangerous adapters, HP publishes to the U.S. Commission for consumer safety recall involving about 70 000 batteries. They have marketed in the United States between August 2007 and March 2008, with different models of laptops from the manufacturer or its Compaq division.

These lithium-ion batteries manufactured in China would tend to heat excessively and injure users of computers, even burn and cause a fire. The manufacturer has acknowledged that he was responsible for two defective batteries, and no one knew what steps had been taken against the owners of computers.

Owners of HP Pavilion dv2000, DV2500, dv2700, dv6000, dv6500, dv6700, dv9000, dv9500, dv9700, Compaq Presario A900, C700, F700, V3000, V3500, V3700, V6000, V6500, V6700, HP G6000, G7000 and HP Compaq 6720 are invited to contact the customer service of Hewlett Packard to obtain if necessary a replacement battery free of charge. The problem seems serious because it is recommended to stop using his computer.
