Sony develops MCB1172 smallest HD camera in the world

This tiny module developed by the sensors division of Sony Europe is only 9.5 x 7.1 mm surface but it can shoot 720p at 30fps with image stabilization built. The electronics contained in this cube no bigger than a raspberry allows filming to 120fps for slow motion effect sensor and climbs up to 8.3 megapixels. The module "MCB1172 is currently on the assembly lines and products, apparently to professional video surveillance, may already occur at the end of the year. The marvel is responsible for the auto-focus, focus in the movement, the face detection and a 16x zoom option may still be attached.

Having biometry or medical applications, it needs higher resolution it can provide up to 8 megapixel still images with related features including a 16x digital zoom, short interval shooting capabilities, image stabiliser, an action capture mode and backlight offset.
