Samsung with Bang & Olufsen launches Serenata Mobile

Samsung and Bang & Olufsen now introduce Serenata, the new music mobile phone that combines superb sound quality with the convenience of a mobile phone, all nicely tucked in the palm of your hand.

Serenata is a music mobile phone focusing on sound quality and at the same time on bringing a more sophisticated lifestyle to the customers. To own Serenata is to enjoy the best possible music experience while you are on the move. Bang & Olufsen's expertise in concept development, user interface experience, acoustic sound capabilities and design skills together with Samsung's leadership in mobile phone technology, engineering and quality have realized a new way of combining unique music and mobile experiences for consumers.

"Since we started our first co-operation with Bang & Olufsen, we have only been confirmed in our belief that both companies share a passion for innovation and consumer-focused technology. Serenata is another example of new ways to think of the mobile phone. I'm proud to say that our customers can see a true innovation of music player and mobile phone as we have opened a new era of mobile phones with Serene two years ago", says Geesung Choi, President of the Telecommunications Network Business in Samsung Electronics.

"We have high expectations to Serenata, as it is a result of our joint vision to constantly push the boundaries, and bring unique and exciting products to our customers", states Torben Ballegaard Sørensen, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.

    Serenata Mobile

Two icons of excellence come together in Serenata, a music player and mobile phone in one. It’s high quality on a higher level, with the advanced acoustics, interface experience and design ingenuity of Bang & Olufsen combined with the intelligent mobile phone engineering of Samsung. Experience unparalled pleasure in a sublime design – in the palm of your hand.

Take time out from the world

You can connect with the world via high-speed 3G data transfer, synchronise your Outlook calendar or stay in touch with a
EarSet 2 Bluetooth headset . Or you can switch to music mode and ‘unplug’ to recharge your mental batteries. Serenata has ample internal memory to hold a library of compressed music in various formats or even uncompressed tracks. It is very easy to connect to larger active speakers or use with the included EarSet 3 when travelling. Let yourself get lost in the music by switching to the PureMusic mode, and your mobile phone and text messages will still reach you – without interrupting you.

Perfect in your hand or hands-free

Serenata’s large aluminium wheel makes menu navigation on your phone easy and comfortable. It is combined with a context-sensitive touch screen that can be letters for texting, numbers for dialling or album graphics when Serenata is playing music. When you gather family members or colleagues for a quick speaker phone call, they will appreciate the clarity of sound and the excellent microphone. The same applies for hands-free calling at your desk where the integrated foot provides secure footing at the perfect angle. The back section slides up softly under light pressure like a precision instrument to reveal the music speakers.

    Amazing audio technology

While half of Seranata is devoted to music and the other half to the mobile phone, the built-in speaker will deliver an outstanding sound for both. Advanced audio engineering and top notch speakers are only partly to explain for the impressive performance. Bang & Olufsen’s ingenious acoustics are the other reason, featuring two high-quality speaker units which, controlled by advanced digital signal processing, deliver precise reproduction of what’s being said at the other end of the line – or played from your list of favourite tracks. That’s in addition to ICEpower amplifiers which enable a surprisingly powerful sound to emanate from such a small space.
