HCL laptop display crashing after log in

i have problem with my Hcl laptop i am using xp sp2 as i try to log in on loading screen (after 2 line ) display shows green display with white cross line. then nothing happens hangs on same screen ,can someone tell me what is the problem is that due to hardware or os ?

if its keep crashing on loading screen then definitely it is hardware problem...if its os problem then you must at least able to see safe mode ...

look crashing display in the way you explain is hardware problem that can be due to video card or any other card like wifi or else also this might be due to grounding problem. so take it to service center.
