As I read the record so much easier this way. Regardless of the source, HDMI, SCART whatever. Bang your pictures on a network share and see where / when you want.

Contrast ratio of 20.000:1 dynamic contrast ratio of 2.000.000:1 etc

It is high time that a standardized norm is that the contrast ratios to be measured so that a (between brands) can be compared and you as a consumer, so what sense it can. Unfortunately, the contrast ratio is currently little more than a marketing term for each of the other producers' measured 'is ... and even the same producer, you just assume that 70.000:1 in one way or another, really better than 50:000:1.

Last year produced their top-panels (LED) backlight (parts) could completely eliminate a so-called (dynamic) contrast ratio of 1.000.000:1. But apparently there has been something more in depth than "fully disabled" because we are already at "2.000.000:1" ..

This may also the other direction he. The ratio between the lightest and darkest point, so if the ratio is twice as high, or the dark still darker, or the light yet lighter. If more light output from the LEDs get you get the higher contrast ratio.

In practice, it is not that there is suddenly an LCD screen out that a 10 times higher light output has. First, it cost too much power and secondly, the current LCD screens more than enough light on, often even after the maximum light intensity is halved.

Besides LED lightning back there to really panels bar little changed. We are still waiting for the real commercial mass production of large OLED panels.

In most TVs and PC monitors with standard back lights are still just MVA / PVA / TN / IPS panels used, which can just barely higher than real contrast ratio have 1:1000 to 1:1500. Black get not just black because the backlight can not be muted. Dynamic contrast ratio are worthless simply because of the backlight is set less bright. The black is so black, but often still at the expense of the fiercest white, it is also darker. The contrastratio (difference deepest black: fiercest white) remains just the same. Black is black, white is gray.

Personally I find the LED back after lightning so just a big hype.
The real breakthrough will come when OLED panels (lower response time, higher contrast, less power, flatter) in the shelves are at an affordable price. That time has not come, but happy ever closer.
