From early JavaScript benchmarks of the first beta of iPhone OS 3.0 show that Mobile Safari in the new iPhone OS for the iPhone and iPod Touch up to three times faster with the processing of JavaScript over its predecessor.
Faster processing of JavaScript with particular benefits for web applications, but also daily visits to normal websites would be benefit. Presumably includes Mobile Safari in OS 3.0 the much improved JavaScript engine Nitro that Apple recently in the public beta of Safari 4 introduced.
In the first test carried out by developer Wayne Pan, the new version of Mobile Safari subject to the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark, developed by the WebKit team which include the engine of Safari, Mobile Safari and Google Chrome is. IPhone OS 2.2 Where the test in 132.5 seconds managed to finish doing OS 3.0 with 44.1 seconds significantly better.
