    Nio Bluetooth-A Security Tag

It's okay to be honest with yourself -- if you've been struggling to keep your personal goods on your person, and hiring a personal bodyguard is simply out of the question, you might need nio. Whats nio? Well, nio™ is a Bluetooth® security tag which links with your mobile phone, Blackberry,® or PDA to create a first line of defence against the loss or theft of valuable items, such as briefcases, laptops, car keys, data sticks and even the phone itself.

It's a Bluetooth security tag that links up your mobile phone and practically anything else you'd like: a briefcase, a set of keys, a pack of Doritos, etc. Essentially, it gives you the ability to be buzzed if your tracked belongings hover too far out of range with your cellie, though the inability to remotely taser the thief is a definite shortcoming. Seems that you'll have to be real serious about this to even inquire about a price, but a totally explanatory video is waiting just past the break.

nio™ helps prevent loss by alerting you the moment your data is at risk. Losing a set of keys, mobile phone, Blackberry or laptop is a costly, stressful and time consuming experience. You may even breach corporate security regulations or become a victim of identity theft.

nio™ is a key ring sized tag and software application. A text downloads the software to your mobile allowing you to create a personalised security zone between your mobile and your tagged valuable item. An alarm sounds on the tag and the mobile if either device moves beyond this zone. The software can control more than one nio™ tag allowing you to set different security zones for all of your items. A calendar feature even allows you to preset when your tag is active – ideal for the commute to work.

The uses are as diverse as the data we carry around. Leave your mobile in a restaurant, meeting room or on a train and a nio™ tag on your keys will alarm as you walk away. If someone tries to steal your tagged laptop bag in a busy environment or from your car both the bag & your mobile will alarm. Accidently drop a tagged data stick as you run to catch a train and your mobile will alarm.

nio™ uses innovative software to link electronic tags to existing Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones and PDAs.The tag allows you to establish a security zone for your tagged item of up to 20m. If the security zone is breached, both the tag and your mobile phone emit an audible alarm, which alerts you to the potential loss or theft of your article. A flashing light on the tag is simultaneously triggered. Should you prefer, you can choose to receive a vibration alert.

Each tag can be given a different alarm tone on your phone so you know which item is at risk. In addition the nio™ ’s locate tone can help you find misplaced tagged items such as USB data sticks or keys.Uniquely, nio™ has a fully rechargeable battery which will hold its charge for several weeks, allowing you to relax in the knowledge that your tagged article is safe. Using the simple to operate calendar application allows you to set dates and times for automatic activation such as during your regular commute.

Bluetooth® wireless technology is designed to be inherently secure. nio™ users have the peace of mind that their phone data cannot be accessed when using nio’s™ PIN enabled Bluetooth® connection.

I just had an idea! This kind of device would be great to use on your luggage in the airport's baggage claim area.

Ooop! But what if you lose your cell phone?
Then there is no way to alert you if your other devices are lost!
