Initial details as well as first imagery of Samsung’s up and coming CP3 (YP-CP3) portable media player appear to have been leaked allowing us a glimpse of the CP3 PMP’s form as well as enabling us to gain a general grasp as to what the CP3 has to offer in terms of capabilities. We can't say for sure that Samsung's YP-CP3 is just a P3 with a pinch more "C," but there are definitely similarities to be seen. At any rate, the CP3 has just surfaced overseas, the Samsung YP-CP3 PMP purportedly comes with a 3″ 16:9 aspect ratio 400 x 240 resolution touchscreen display, boasts an integrated FM tuner, built-in microSD card slot and, in terms of supported file formats, takes in MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, FLAC, RM, MPEG4, WMV, SVI, RMVB and TXT.
The Samsung YP-CP3 joystick should also be easier to use than the all too sensitive diamond touch interface in the YP-Q1 and YP-Q2, and there are even rumours of a camera onboard but we’re not optimistic about that one.
We’re yet to see any imagery of the front of the YP-CP3 so are unable to confirm the existence of an integrated camera though camera functionality is being speculated upon.
According to the Russian site P2Club the Samsung YP-CP3 Touchscreen PMP could be released this summer with the site offering up June as a possible point of release though, obviously, we should stress that all the above is strictly unofficial and unconfirmed.
P2Club has it that the Samsung YP-CP3 will surface in June, and given that one of the main selling points of the Samsung PMP range is the price point.
