    Cyberpower Gamer Dragon 9500 desktop

This is not the first Dragon-based gaming rig, which exists, but according to ComputerShopper, Cyberpower Gamer new Dragon in May 9500 just one of the best deals around, and, therefore, still able to do double duty as a multimedia computer, if you 're looking to save your box number to a minimum. This last feature comes more from the addition of a Blu-ray discs, but expectedly system truly deliver the goods when it comes to gaming, the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics (with 2GB of DDR5 memory) helping to evacuate some Frame rates respectable even absurd resolutions. U.S. dollars, 1499 base price will also get you a generous 1TB hard drive, 4GB RAM, and of course the 3.6GHz AMD Phenom x4 II 940 processor at the same platform.

When the Dragon arrived, there was a puncture through its outer box, through an inch and a half of gray foam, and a break in the skin on the inner packing box. The lift from the floor to our test bench revealed a rattle inside the Thermaltake Element S midtower case, but a quick visual check showed no apparent damage to the case itself.

Wisely, Cyberpower shipped the nearly three-pound ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card (which comes with 2GB of DDR5 on the board) in a separate box. When installed, the weight of these cards often causes them to shift under rough handling conditions. They've been known to get dislodged or even crack their PCI Express x16 slot as a result. Other than hunting down the loose motherboard screw that was doing the rattling, installing the HD 4870 X2 video card, and nudging the SATA cable for the system’s 1TB hard drive back into the motherboard connector, there was no real damage to speak of.

As priced, the Dragon arrives with only a keyboard and mouse; you have to supply your own display and speakers. The Asus M3A79-T Deluxe motherboard supports eight-channel HD audio. Should you want to take the leap into new speakers, Cyberpower has a selection ranging from ear-bleeding to digitally masterful on its Web site.

We fired up the Dragon and loaded a Blu-ray disc into the Pioneer 202BKS Blu-ray player. (There’s a companion Samsung DVD burner in a lower bay.) The BD Edition of CyberLink’s PowerDVD application sprang up on the screen in response to the Serenity disc and filled our 30-inch Dell LCD with glorious color and clarity, while massive sound emerged from our Creative Inspire P7800 90-watt 7.1 speaker system.

Re: Cyberpower Gamer Dragon 9500 desktop

    hi,
I'm waiting for a decent laptop with 4gb 1066Mhz DDR3 a 1900x1200 display and a 4860 or 4870 with GDDR5 in a lappy... Companies seem to be incapable of putting all of these parts into a laptop at once...
