    Tanita's BC-1000 Monitor

Tanita Corporation, the world’s leader in professional analyzers, consumer home monitors and miniscale products, announces the new BC-1000, bringing the most sophisticated health monitoring technology to health and fitness enthusiasts everywhere.Tanita are one of the first to announce such an ANT+ equipped device, in the shape of the BC-1000 Body Composition Monitor, that can send multiple stats about your physique to both the FR60 and your PC. Claiming to be the first Monitor that has the ability to transmit data wirelessly to remote display, the BC-1000 offers effortless linking to many devices including the PC.

Like other body composition monitors, the Tanita BC-1000 simply demands that you stand on it, bare-footed, and allow it to measure your weight, body fat and body water. These readers are then sent to the FR60 watch to be displayed (rather than shown in big, embarrassing numbers on the BC-1000 itself) and if your PC - with the wireless ANT+ USB stick fitted - is within range it will get the stats too.

Remember all those ANT+ wireless peripherals that were supposed to come flooding out after the introduction of Garmin's FR60 Fitness Watch? We suppose said flood has to start somewhere, and this is it. Tanita's BC-1000 Body Composition Monitor is hardly more than a sophisticated scale, designed to hold humans for just moments at a time while collecting measurements on muscle mass, overall physique, daily caloric intake, metabolic age, bone mass and visceral fat. From there, the unit can either send those details wireless to the aforesaid watch, or it can beam them to any PC with an appropriate dongle.

The Tanita BC-1000 will come in two bundles options, $279.99 with an ANT+ USB stick or the $399.99 package that includes the BC-1000, FR50 watch and USB stick.

The Tanita BC-1000 Body Composition monitor features no visible display, as readings are automatically transmitted to remote displays such as the Germin FR60 fitness watch, a personal computer on Tanita's tabletop remote display for easy viewing in various locations.

Thanks to the standard, the BC-1000 can securely and wirelessly transmit data to Garmin’s FR60 Fitness Watch.
