Onkyo Sotec C103 Netbook

Remember the Sotec C101 Netbook from Onkyo which was upgraded with the netbooks DC101WP and DC101BP ? If we remember it correctly the only difference between the C101 and the DC101WP and DC101BP are the colors and nothing on their specs and features.

You know how Asus has a habit of releasing new netbooks with new model numbers and only slightly different specifications? Like the Asus Eee PC 90o with a Celeron processor and the Eee PC 900A with an Intel Atom CPU. Apparently the idea is catching on, because Onkyo?s latest netbook has almost everything in common with an earlier model.

Now here comes Onkyo again releasing a new Sotec Netbook, the C103, which actually has the same features as the C101. And the only difference? You guessed it right - the colors which are black and silver.

The Sotec C103 has the following specs:

  • Intel Atom N270 CPU
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Intel 945GSE Express chipset
  • 10.1-inch WSVGA LCD
  • 160GB HDD
  • Wi-Fi BGN
  • 5-hour battery life.

Re: Onkyo Sotec C103 Netbook

Onkyo?s Sotec netbook series has always been a big yawn fest. If you remember that Hello Kitty netbook (not the rebadged MSI Wind one), well this is what that model was based on, but this is the new Sotec series, the C103 Sotec netbook.

The only difference is an ugly, larger capacity battery which sticks out like a sore thumb, like a 6-Cell battery on an Acer Aspire One, but it provides only 5 hours of battery life. Still no Draft N Wi-Fi.
